HaloTag

Privacy

Reconnection, not tracking.

HaloTag does nothing until a tag is scanned. Then it shares only what helps the finder, and keeps the rest to itself.

What we record

As little as possible, for as short as possible

  • Scans

Each scan is recorded with its time and an approximate country, never the finder’s IP address, and deleted after 30 days.

  • Messages

Messages between you and a finder are deleted 7 days after the alert ends.

  • Your contacts

Their addresses and numbers are encrypted, and used only to alert them.

  • Location

HaloTag never tracks where a tag or a person is.

  • Cookies

Only the ones the service needs: your session when you are signed in, and your language when you choose one.

  • Where your data lives

Your account and alerts are stored in the European Union. Only the public page of each tag is cached worldwide, so that it opens fast wherever it is scanned.
